At least five suspects have been detained in connection to a fire outbreak at Buluk police headquarters in Juba, as investigations continue.

On Sunday night a huge fire erupted at the Buluk police station engulfing a store within the compound. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, deputy police spokesperson Col. James Dak Karlos, said the officers who were on duty that night have been detained.

“There will be administrative procedures that will be taken, whether it’s through negligence or by accident, they are under detention we don’t put them behind bars we detain them, they are detained in our police cells,” James added.

According to him, only a store was consumed by the fire which he describes as an accident.
