A man who locked himself inside a roadside storage stall was killed Saturday night when the diesel inside went up in flames.

The incident occurred 10:00 p.m. on Saturday after the salesman had closed the stall and gone to sleep inside. It is not known how the blaze started.

The victim was identified as Kuot Atak Ayom Kout, 24-years old, who worked with two men from western Sudan to sell diesel.

Rescuers responded to the man’s cries and broke down the burning shed, but by the time they had done so it was already to late for the victim.

Two Sudanese men were detained afterwards for investigation.
