Fire guts four shops belonging to Sudanese traders in Juba

A large fire gutted four shops belonging to Sudanese traders at Atlabara residential area in South Sudan’s capital Juba on Monday morning.

Dahab Fadel-Mullah, one of the shop owners, told Radio Tamazuj that the fire broke out at 3:00 am, while accusing the local authorities of failing to control the fire. The trader said he lost about 550,000 South Sudanese pounds.

Meanwhile, another trader called Al Amin Adam explained that he didn’t know the cause of the fire, but he received a telephone call from some of his friends informing him about what had happened.

Adam pointed out the fire consumed the shop as soon as he arrived in the area, saying he lost 100,000 South Sudanese pounds.

The Sudanese traders questioned whether local authorities would be sincere to carry out investigations to uncover the cause of the incident.
