An oil facility has been burnt in Pariang County of Unity State, according to the state information minister.
Radio Miraya reported State Information Minister Peter Makur Malual said the fire at the oil facility in Pariang County started on Monday night and was still burning by Tuesday morning.
He accused opposition forces of attacking the installation but the SPLA-IO rebel group did not claim responsibility for the incident. He called on the national government and oil companies to assist in putting out the blaze.
Pariang County is controlled by the ruling SPLA-Juba faction but bordered by Sudanese-controlled territory to the west where SPLA-IO fighters have been reported to have based themselves previously, as well as SPLA-IO controlled territory to the north.
