Fire at Neem camp in Ed Daien

A massive fire on Sunday afternoon burnt hundreds of homes in Neem Camp in Ed Daien located in Eastern Darfur. The camp hosts a mix of displaced people from Darfur and southerners who have lived in Darfur for a long time.

The deputy head of the camp committee Mohamed Ibrahim said that the fire spread into the school. He claimed that 100,000 IDPs are living in the camp with the desire to return to their original villages but said it depends on the provision of services in their areas.

Mohamed Ibrahim also argued that the food ration which was given by the World food Program has been reduced by 75%, pointing out that the IDPs are suffering due to this food reduction.
