The Ugandan police on Wednesday arrested 12 South Sudanese children in Kiryandongo Refugee Camp in Ugandan, a relative has said.

The Ugandan police on Wednesday arrested 12 South Sudanese children in Kiryandongo Refugee Camp in Ugandan, a relative has said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Nhial Gatluak, a father to one of the detained children said the children were arrested after a scuffle occurred among them while playing football.

Gatluak revealed that police authorities in the area are now demanding $50 as bail for the release of each child.

Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement in Western Uganda is home to more than 50,000 South Sudanese refugees.
