At least six people were killed at Nama area in Dabab Locality in Sudan’s West Kordofan State after renewed clashes between the feuding Al-Ziyoud and Awlad Omran clans of the Misseriya tribe on Sunday.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, several local residents said the two clans started fighting after a dispute over the ownership of a water point used by both communities.
They pointed out that at least six people from both communities were killed and several others wounded.
Tensions between Al-Ziyoud and Awlad Omran clans began three years ago when they fought over Um Barom land. In November 2014, they signed a peace deal, but the two sides continued to violate the agreement, creating fears of renewed clashes.
