The head of international football association FIFA Gianni Infantino is expected to attend the match of South Sudan with Benin on Wednesday, today, and to meet with President Kiir.
He will also inaugurate the building of South Sudan Football Association.
Benin’s team arrived in Juba on the evening of Monday, 21 March, in order to meet South Sudan on Wednesday in a qualifier for the African Nations Cup 2017 Gabon.
South Sudan team practiced for the match on Tuesday morning, while Benin team held its last exercises on Tuesday evening.
Malakia FC manger Sabit Lomori commented that the South Sudan squad is not afraid to face Benin, having a good record in home matches, and he expects South Sudan to win.
A sports journalist from Benin said he expected Benin to win, pointing out the team has some professional players from European clubs, though he noted that they have watched South Sudan’s win over Equatorial Guinea.
