The local authorities in Sudan’s West Kordofan State announced they have received a written document from the feuding Ziyoud and Awlad Omran clans of the Misseriya tribe in which they expressed their willingness to hold a reconciliation conference next month.

In a press statement, Governor Abul-Gasim Al Min Baraka said the document demonstrates determination of traditional leaders of the two clans to reach a sustainable peace, coexist, lay down arms and found development projects in the area.

The state official stated that he formed a number of committees to convene the peace conference between the two tribes in October.
