Neutral corridors between the Awlad Omran and El Zeyud clans of the Misseriya El Humr tribe have been delineated in Babanusa town of West Kordofan state, according to a source.

This comes in a conference held in Babanusa town yesterday. The meeting was headed by Emir Abdel Moneim El Shuwen and was attended by a 30-member committee of the Misseriya El Humr.

In June, the Awlad Omran and Zeyut clans signed a truce after clashes over a piece of land that left more than 44 tribesmen dead from the two sides.

A local source told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that any party violates the terms and conditions of the recent agreement will be punished.

The conference aimed at avoiding further friction between the two feuding clans and that the two sides were denied access to Nama market, according to the same source.

Last week, youths of Bananusa Locality also launched a social peace initiative between the Awlad Omran and Zeyud clans in the state.
