A female pastor was shot dead on Tuesday morning in Maridi County of South Sudan’s Maridi State, police said.
Seba Nakamis Charles, an Anglican pastor in charge of St. Barnaba Maringido parish at Hai Tarawa in Maridi State, was shot and killed by unknown assailants at her home.
Police authorities say the motive for the killing is still unknown and the police are investigating the incident.
Emmanuel Laku Samuel, a police officer at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) told Radio Tamazuj that an investigation was underway.
“We are working to apprehend the perpetrator, so we are urging the family of the deceased to give us time,” he said.

Seba Nakamis had served as a pastor for 15 years in Sudan and South Sudan.
