Matar al-Shiekh Othou, the press secretary of Fashoda County in South Sudan's Upper Nile state, told Radio Tamazuj Monday that hundreds of cattle are at risk of dying of disease.

He attributed the lack of medicines to the withdrawal of charities due to conflict in the state.

The press secretary further said over 1,000 head of cattle and sheep died in December and January.

Matar urged international NGOs to provide veterinary drugs to save the livestock in the war affected area.
