Local farmers in Babanusa locality in Sudan’s West Kordufan State have complaining of a pest infestation destroying their crops.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the farmers said pests such as locusts and the Starling Birds have destroyed most of the crops in the area including millet.
The farmers said they have informed the state agriculture and health ministries to provide them with pesticides that would help them get rid of the pests.
However, they say they are yet to receive any response from the ministries, casting fears of a failed agricultural season if the spread of the pests is not contained.
