A group of community leaders from Fangak state, one of South Sudan’s newly created states, has appreciated President Salva Kiir for launching the national dialogue.
Speaking to the press after a meeting with President Kiir in Juba on Wednesday, Gen. John Kong, who is a prominent leader of the community, explained that they met with Kiir to appreciate him for initiating the national dialogue to end the ongoing war in the country.
He further said Fangak state is one of the areas that have been devastated by the ongoing conflict. He stressed the importance of taking the initiative to the people at the grassroots level.
For his part, South Sudan’s presidential spokesman, Ateny Wek Ateny, said the delegation of Fangak community leaders pledged to support President Kiir. He further said that the community elders outlined the important areas that need to be addressed through the national dialogue for the sake of peace and stability in South Sudan.
