The family of a woman killed when an SPLA soldier detonated a hand grenade at Agok market in Abyei area on 7 May is demanding the perpetrator be brought to book.

The family of a woman killed when an SPLA soldier detonated a hand grenade at Agok market in Abyei area on 7 May is demanding the perpetrator be brought to book.

At least two people were reported killed and eight others wounded in that explosion in the contested area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan.

Abraham Ajuang Ajang, the husband of the victim, told Abyei Today Programme on Friday that he condemns the killing of citizens by SPLA elements.

Ajuang stressed that the SPLA soldier involved in the killing of his wife should be arrested and face justice, saying his wife left a 15 month-old child.

Rumamer County Commissioner Deng Juac Dau previously told Radio Tamazuj that the suspected soldier was arrested.
