Fallata community in Aweil calls for participation in government

The Fallata community in Aweil State have demanded representation in the government of the newly created Aweil State, one of three successor states of Northern Bahr al Ghazal decreed by Salva Kiir.

A prominent member of the Fallata tribe in Aweil called Mohamed Mustafa told Radio Tamazuj that members from his tribe met with the new governor to congratulate him for his appointment as the first governor of the newly created Aweil state.

He said his community welcomes the Establishment Order issued by Kiir to create 28 states in South Sudan in place of the previous 10 states. Mustafa added that the governor welcomed the Fallata community in Aweil and urged them to form a strong community that can contribute to the development of the new state.

The Fallata leader pointed out that the former governor Paul Malong had once appointed one of their tribesmen, Ismail Ibrahim, as his economic adviser.
