Fallata Ambororo tribe accuse SPLM-N of cattle raiding

At least three herders from the Fallata Ambororo nomadic tribe were reportedly killed and thousands of head of cattle raided by gunmen during a livestock raid in Sudan’s Blue Nile State, according to a traditional leader.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, the Fallata Ambororo tribal leader Issa Yagoub Mohamed stated three people including a pregnant woman were killed during the last 20 days and he claimed over 20,000 cattle were taken by assailants.

He further noted that the tribe’s Kashankro clan were also ambushed in a separate incident at a grazing site west of Khartoum Bilel area on Wednesday.

The incident resulted in the killing of one herder called Hussein and a number of cattle raided. “Other gunmen also launched another attack on us in Baraka Id El Kijek area east of Geissan,” he claimed.

Yagoub frankly accused elements of Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North of involvement in all the incidents that happened. He claimed that elements of the SPLM-N have been targeting their children and property in Geissan, Bau and Kurmuk areas in Blue Nile.

Radio Tamazuj could not reach the SPLA-N in the area to comment on the claims.
