Five people from the Falata nomadic tribe were wounded in an armed attack on El Fademia village in Bau Locality in Sudan’s Blue Nile state last week, according to a tribal leader.
Falata tribal leader Ali Abaker told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday that an armed group attacked their village with heavy machine guns and RPGs.
“The incident resulted into the wounding of three men and two women, who were taken to a hospital in Damazin town, while some of them were transferred to the Military Hospital in Khartoum,” he said.
Abaker accused the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) of involvement in the incident.
He said many Falata tribesmen are serving in the Sudanese Popular Defense Forces.
Radio Tamazuj could not reach the SPLA-N in the area to comment on the claims.
