The populations by location are as follows:

Juba (UN House PoC 1 and III): 38,874

Bentiu: 101,022

Malakal: 33,052

Melut: 700

Bor: 2,004

Wau: 28,718

Total: 204,370

Protection camps, known as ‘PoC sites’, have fluctuatd in size since the civil war started in December 2013. Most of the residents of the Bentiu site arrived in 2014-2015 while the residents in Wau arrived this year. And most of the people who initially took shelter in the Bor camp in early 2014 left due to a massacre at the camp in April that year.The Juba protection sites received a new influx in July this year after the fresh outbreak of violence that divided the new transitional government.

These figures are estimates by UNMISS. Biometric registrations have been completed in only some locations.
