The sounds of explosions were heard in an area west of Abyei town in the contested region between Sudan and South Sudan over the last few days.
Multiple sources told Radio Tamazuj Tuesday about two unexploded RPG bombs were found on Saturday night, while nobody claimed responsibility for the bombing so far.
Bulabek Deng Kuol, the paramount chief of the Ngok Dinka confirmed the incident to Radio Tamazuj.
Bulabek said the United Nations Interim Security Forces for Abyei (UNISFA) have moved to the scene at Madington area west of the Abyei town where they traced movements of unknown people in the area.
The traditional leader pointed out that there were no casualties or loss of properties reported in the area. Bulabek claimed there was an armed group that penetrated from Um Al Khair area into Abyei.
However, the Abyei chief said the group cannot be linked to the incident before thorough investigations are carried out.
