Explosion kills 12 passengers in Sudan's Blue Nile

At least 12 people were killed and two others seriously injured when the bus carrying them along the Sudan-Ethiopian border burst into flames after an explosion.

The incident took place when a bomb planted at the roadside exploded, while the bus with 14 passengers was on its way to Geissan town in Sudan’s Blue Nile state. As a result the bus got burnt to ashes and 12 people immediately died. Two survived but are in critical condition, as one of them had his two legs amputated, a medical source explained. The police filed a case against an unidentified perpetrator.
