At least three people were killed and another was injured in Dilling, South Kordofan, when a device allegedly placed on the vehicle carrying the victims exploded.

A source confirmed that Abu Baraka, 30, Ramadan Al Fahal, 25, and Osman Ajab, 36, were killed in the incident. Komi Shokia, 60, was injured and taken to a hospital in White Nile.

The surroundings of Dilling saw the occurrence of battles last week between the Sudan Armed Forces and and militants of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF).

A Sudanese politician confirmed that the rebels cut the road between Dilling and Al Dibebat for some time before it was regained by the armed forces.

This acknowledgement came after the announcement of SRF at the beginning of this week that they control the road linking Al-Dibebat, Dilling and Al Obeid – a claim that the Sudanese government initially denied.
