Expired goods seized in Blue Nile state

A senior official in the standards and meteorology department in Sudan’s Blue Nile State announced that they seized 21.5 tonnes of spoiled consumer goods in the market.

Mohamed Ali Mohamed, Director of the Standards Meteorology Department, said in a press statement to the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) that they recently launched an inspection campaign in Damazin and Al Roseires markets.

Mohamed noted they had seized large quantities of expired goods in the market following Eid Al Fitr.

He said the campaign targeted essential commodities including poultry, oil, biscuits, pastries, rice, lentils, milk, yoghurt, and jam.
