South Sudan's National Security Services arrested former Yei River State governor David Lokonga Moses and have been holding him since last week, according to multiple sources.
Lokonga is being held at the NSS headquarters in Jebel area, sources confirmed to Radio Tamazuj today.
They said no reason was given for the arrest and they have not heard from Lokonga since last week. “I don’t know the reason for his arrest but I can confirm that Lokonga has been arrested,” one of the sources said.
“Lokonga was arrested by National Security agents after a complaint raised by someone,” another source said.
Meanwhile, another source said two top government officials from Equatoria region on Friday met the Internal Security Service Director-General Akol Koor to discuss Lokonga’s release from detention in Juba.
David Lokonga was removed from office by President Salva Kiir in February this year.
