Deng Alier Mading, a former minister for Youth and Sports in Jonglei State has died aged 60, authorities confirmed.

Deng Alier Mading, a former minister for Youth and Sports in Jonglei State has died aged 60, authorities confirmed.

Mading died after a short illness in the state capital, Bor on Thursday.

The Secretary General of the state, Mabior Atem told Radio Tamazuj that the former minister’s death is a great loss to the people of Jonglei.

“It is very unfortunate that today [Thursday] at 12:30 pm, we lost Deng Alier Mading, the former minister for Youth and Sports. This is a sad day for the Jonglei community and South Sudan,” he said.
