The Ethiopian Prime Minister, Haile Mariam Desalenge, is expected to arrive in Khartoum on Tuesday 3 December.
Desalenge will be accompanied by an Ethiopian high level delegation to engage in the Sudan-Ethiopia Joint High Committee meetings.
The press secretary of the Office of the Sudanese President, Emad Saeed Ahmed, reported that the Ethiopian Prime Minister will meet with President Omar Al Bashir in the Friendship Hall, prior to the joint meetings of the Joint High Committee.
It is envisaged that the Ethiopian Prime Minister will visit El Gedarif state to witness the launch of the electricity link between the two countries. It is also likely that he will pay a visit to the Merowe dam.
Border issues between localities
The commissioner of Sudan’s Geissan Locality, Mansour El Tom has discussed border issues with the Ethiopian county commissioner of Asosa, aiming at the coordination of efforts in order to soften the common borders.
In a press statement at the Sudan Media Center, El Tom explained that he and the Ethiopian county commissioner, in the presence of security organs of both countries, have discussed border security as well as issues of mutual interest between the two localities.
