Prices of consumer goods and fuel have risen drastically in Kadugli town in Sudan’s South Kordofan State following the government decision to raise fuel and electricity prices.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several citizens in Kadugli town complained about rising prices of essential goods and fuel at the market, saying bus fares increased by 100% within the town.
They pointed out that the price of one litter of diesel increased from 26 SDG to 38 SDG, and the fare increased from 2 SDG to 4 SDG and 5 SDG in some areas, whereas bus tickets from Kadugli to al-Obeid cost 90 SDG.
Separately, a military source reported presence of Janjaweed militias in Kadugli and Abu Jubeiha areas where nearly 3000 troops are stationed. He noted that another government force heading to South Kordofan arrived in Kuti area.
