The Evangelical Presbyterian Church Radio Station in Yei (EPC Radio 88.4 FM) is back on air after more than two months break down of its transmission system.

EPC is now hitting the airwaves of Yei town with reconciliation songs, programs and messages. According to the station’s manager Obede Emmanuel, the station managed to secure its transmitter from a church partner in the United States of America (USA).

He revealed that the management is working hard to increase its coverage to all the counties of the former Central Equatoria State and later cover the whole country.

Obede thanked their partner for working hard in ensuring that the radio comes back on air to help the people of South Sudan reconcile their differences and work together in peace and development of the country.

“The radio was off and we thank God that it’s back on air and we need to ensure that information and reconciliation songs are passed to the people in Yei. We as the management are also planning hard to see that the radio covers a wider range in the state and also the whole country,” he added.

Meanwhile, James Towongo, a station listener in Yei town thanked the management of EPC for bringing the radio back on air. He says information and songs played on the radio are changing his life every day.

“I always listen to EPC radio because it has good Christian programs and songs that strengthens and encourages us to live in peace so am really happy and I call on some of the people outside there to tune to 88.4 frequency so that you get informed and transformed.”

There are four radio stations in Yei which are all off-air with exception of EPC radio. Several radio stations in Kajokeji and Morobo towns also in Central Equatoria State are also off-air.
