A prominent businesswoman in Yambio town in Western Equatoria State, Shiham Seid, died on Friday after being involved in a motorcycle accident as she was going to her home on Friday.
According to Yambio County Commissioner Mbiko Barakat, Seid was riding a motorbike from Yambio Airstrip to her home in the Masiah suburb when she fell and sustained injuries. She succumbed to her injuries while being rushed to the hospital.
“At 4 pm on Friday there was rain coming and a lady called Shiham, popularly known by her nickname which in English translates to ‘Let them talk,’ was riding from Yambio Airstrip to Masiah,” he said. “When she reached the State Secretariat, she fell off the bike she died after about seven minutes. This is the breaking news now in Yambio.”
According to Commissioner Barakat, the death of the young enterprising businesswoman is a great loss to the people of Yambio County and Western Equatoria State because she has been helping people through her services and business.
Shiham’s businesses include a mixed goods retail shop, restaurant, tents for hire for functions, catering for events and workshops, parties, and funerals among others.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Western Equatoria State Chamber of Commerce, Lucky Justin, ordered traders to close their shops on Saturday in respect of and to mourn their fallen colleague.
Shiham Seid is survived by four children, one girl, and three boys.
