Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hossam Moghazi said his country is seeking to construct a new dam in Bahr el Jebel in Central Equatoria state, saying his government will send a delegation to Juba in the second half of February.
Moghazi said during a workshop organized by the national institute for water research on Sunday that the research carried out by the institute contributes significantly to the development process and to overcome the stalled projects and the problems facing the ministry.
Moghazi noted that the Institute offers many water researches in bilateral cooperation with South Sudan, which includes agricultural integration projects, as well as helping South Sudan to create a water dam in Bahr el Jebel.
The Egyptian minster pointed out that a delegation from the institute will travel to South Sudan to conduct researches in the area as requested by the government of South Sudan, saying that perhaps the delegation will arrive in the second half of February.
