The National Minister for General Education and Instructions, Awut Deng Acuil, Wednesday handed over the newly-constructed and renovated schools to the Lakes State authorities.
The schools include Agergum Primary, Panekar Secondary and Rumbek National Secondary.
Acuil told Radio Tamazuj that her ministry was grateful for the large team doing the construction and renovation of the schools across Lakes State.
“We have done some renovation and construction of schools and we wanted to hand them over to the State authorities. We also appeal to all the parents and our community leaders to ensure that all the children go to school, including those with disabilities,” she said.
“It is not the role of the government alone. All the community leaders should be involved in education, making sure that every school age child goes to school,” the Minister said.
Lakes State Governor Rin Tueny Mabor said everyone in the State welcomed the Minister, hence their joy on receiving her at the Rumbek airport.
“She is welcomed by everyone in Lakes State. Today is a very important day in Lakes State,” said Mabor.
The Governor said the education in the State was going on well.
