ECS consecrates new bishop for Rajaf Diocese

The Episcopal Church of South Sudan in Juba on Sunday consecrated Rt. Rev. Edward Tombe Oliver as the 3rd Diocesan Bishop of Rajaf Diocese.

The Episcopal Church of South Sudan in Juba on Sunday consecrated Rt. Rev. Edward Tombe Oliver as the 3rd Diocesan Bishop of Rajaf Diocese.

Bishop Tombe was consecrated in pomp and colour in a celebration attended by hundreds of Christian faithful’s including high profile government officials.

Addressing the occasion, the Archbishop of Central Equatoria Province Paul Pitia Benjamin Yugusuk called on the new bishop to guide the Christians through biblical teachings.

He praised the retired Bishop of Rajaf Diocese Enock Tombe saying he has shown a good example for church leaders by respecting the church constitution.

Archbishop Yugusuk urged all ECSS Bishops to do the same when their time to retire comes to give room for new bishops. According to the ECSS constitution, all bishops are expected to retire at the age of 65.
