EBC cameraman dies in South Sudan capital

A cameraman of the Equator Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) in the capital Juba has passed away this morning, November 13 at the age of 35.

A cameraman of the Equator Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) in the capital Juba has passed away this morning, November 13 at the age of 35.

Doctors said that the cause of death was malaria. According to reports, James Tombura worked as a camera operator for the Citizen TV in Juba before he joined the Equator Broadcasting Corporation which serves as a public service broadcaster in Jubek state.

“I am shocked to learn of the sudden death of our colleague James Tombur,” writes one of his colleagues on social media.

The 35-year-old journalist started to work in the media sector in 2012.
