Eastern Lakes governor appoints 5 new commissioners

The newly appointed county commissioners should address issues responsibly and exhibit good leadership, the governor of South Sudan’s Eastern Lakes State, Mangar Buong said on Friday.

The newly appointed county commissioners should address issues responsibly and exhibit good leadership, the governor of South Sudan’s Eastern Lakes State, Mangar Buong said on Friday.

Buong made the remarks as he witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of the five county commissioners.

The five county commissioners were appointed on February 12.

A number of state officials, including the deputy governor, ministers and lawmakers attended the event held at the state secretariat.

James Adut Makoi was appointed commissioner of Yirol North County with Yali as its headquarters, Philip Kordit Mabor for Yirol East County with Adior as its headquarters, David Manyiel Lueth as the Awerial Central County commissioner and Micheal Panachuol Achol and Jacob Dut are for Awerial East and Anuol counties respectively.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Makoi thanked the governor for entrusting them with the powers to serve people in their counties.

The new commissioners pledged to protect people as well as their properties.
