The Commissioner of al-Fardous locality in Sudan’s East Darfur, Hamdan Adam al Bushra, has called on the Sudan Relief Commission and UN agencies to urgently provide assistance to the South Sudanese who fled their country due to hunger and war.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Bushra revealed that over 800 families fled the recent attacks in Raja town in South Sudan most of them are women and children who need urgent assistance.
He pointed out that the refugees have received some assistance from the local communities but not enough to meet their needs. The commissioner blamed the international community over the suffering of the people fleeing South Sudan, calling on humanitarian organizations to intervene to provide them with food assistance.
