The Governor of Sudan’s East Darfur State has recently issued an order banning movement of unlicensed vehicles and motorcycles across the state.
Hamdan Adam Al Busha, Al Firdos locality commissioner, confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that the decision was issued by the governor last Monday.
He pointed out that the order was meant to curb insecurity in East Darfur localities. He revealed that all crimes that were committed in the past involved drivers of the unlicensed cars and motorcycles in the localities. The commissioner stressed that the decision aimed at bringing an end to impunity.
The official explained that the localities have already started to implement the governor’s decision.
East Darfur State has been witnessing a recent spree of robberies, tribal feuds, and murders.
