Police in Aweil town in South Sudan’s Western Bahr el Ghazal have arrested a man who shot dead his wife when they were drunk.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Aweil police commissioner Gen. Elia Kosta said they have arrested the husband and that the killing occurred when the man was drunk.

“One of the incidents that happened is that a corporal in the police shot dead his wife at night when he was drunk. We as the police opened a case against him and he was arrested and his gun was seized,” said Kosta.

He added that they have given the body of the wife to her relatives meanwhile the police are still waiting to take the husband to the court.
