A section of drivers want the government to repair the Tambura-Wau road after it was opened recently.

A section of drivers want the government to repair the Tambura-Wau road after it was opened recently.

The drivers have complained that the road is in poor condition and needs urgent repair.

Salit Mohamed Adam, a driver in Tambura town, told Radio Tamazuj Thursday that they found it hard to move because of the poor condition of the road.

"We want to appeal to the government to consider renovating the road between Wau and Tambura," said Mohamed, adding that there is no insecurity between Wau and Tambura.

Mohamed Abdalla Adam, another driver in Tambura, said security has greatly improved along the Tambura-Wau road. The driver further said he is ready take passengers to Wau soon.

For his part, the deputy governor of Tambura State James Adu Votoki says the state government does not have a budget to repair the road. He pointed out that the national government has recently promised to renovate the road.

The road between Tambura and Wau was closed due to insecurity in 2015.
