Dr. John Garang Memorial University in Bor, Jonglei was announced to have reopened after three months of being closed due to lack of feeding for students.
In March, the university suspended its reopening after its contractor failed to supply food.
The university's deputy vice chancellor for academic affairs Professor Wani Lado Worjo told Radio Tamazuj Tuesday that they reopened the university after securing food for students.
He pointed out that the registration process is ongoing and that lectures will start on June 10.
“Our main problem was food for the students. And now we received food for the whole academic year. Registrations will stop on the 8th and lectures will start on the 10th, “he said.
Wani urged all students to turn up for registrations and attend lectures next week.
The university is one of the five public universities in South Sudan. It was elevated to university status in 2008.
