Dozens of displaced Nuba families have been denied aid in Dilling town Dilling Locality in the northern part of South Kordofan State. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, several citizens from Dilling town said the new arrivals were experiencing a shortage of food and other essential services.

The citizens were displaced from Daliema and Alwan villages and sought refuge in Dilling town following fierce fighting between the Sudan Armed Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North in recent months.

Local authorities allegedly refused to open official camps in order to accommodate the displaced in Dilling town. “Since they came until now they only share food and other services with the locals and their relatives in the town, when the authorities rejected to establish a refugee camp,” a citizen said.

Some households preferred to return back home, according to the same source. Residents called on the local authorities to recognise the status of the displaced and allow organizations to provide aids to them in Dilling town.
