Dozens of people fleeing the recent fighting in Juba were killed in a road accident today along Juba-Nimule Road, according to eyewitness.
The incident occurred as a truck full of passengers overturned killing dozens and critically injuring many others. The truck was carrying many passengers most of whom were believed to be Ugandans fleeing the violence in Juba.
The accident was blamed on a careless truck driver who was running at a very high speed.
“He the [truck driver] just sped up and killed them right in front of us,” said an eyewitness.
Uganda has since last week sent troops to South Sudan to evacuate its nationals from the troubled country.
