Two people have been stabbed to death in a dowry dispute in Jur River County of Western Bahr El Ghazal State.
Voice of Hope FM in Wau reported that a man was killed by his brother in-law for allegedly having confronted the bridegroom over a dowry payment during a dance on Sunday night in Atido Boma of Udici Payam.
The victim was identified as Choro Mon. Following his death, relatives killed their in-law Uchala Nyang in retaliation.
The second victim was reportedly at home sleeping when he was attacked, according to a witness named Joseph Alfred.
The two bodies were brought to Wau Teaching Hospital for medical confirmation on Monday.
Medical director Edmond Sebit Ramadan said both victims, one 19 years old and the other 20 years, died of spear wounds.
Jur River County authorities last week banned movement with firearms, spears, sticks and abolished social dances.
