More than 51,000 Sudanese refugees from Blue Nile state are facing a dire humanitarian condition in the Doro refugee site located in Upper Nile state, the civilian camp leader told Radio Tamazuj.
Taila Musa said that refugees are facing hunger and drug shortages due to the scaling back of food portions last month. Some residents have died, Musa said.
“We do not have exact figures about death cases but every week we received news about the death of children and elderly people in the camp” said Musa.
He asked humanitarian organizations to resume the food portions for the refugees and increase medical cadres in the camp.
