Municipal officials in Aweil town have issued a warning to local residents to remain alert for rabies as dog bites become more frequent in the area.

Simon Tong Deng, Mayor of Aweil town, told Radio Tamazuj that stray dogs have continued to be a menace in the town, saying any stray dogs found will be shot in the coming days.

The town mayor pointed out that rabies treatment is more expensive in the area.
