The SSPDF Commander of Division (5) in Western Bahr el-Ghazal State, Maj Gen Dau Aturjong, has directed all the forces to report to their barracks as directed by the headquarters in Bilpam, Juba.
The soldiers were last June permitted by the division administration to go out for farming.
Addressing reporters on Friday at the Gerinti 5th Infantry headquarters in Wau, Maj Gen Aturjong said all the soldiers have to report to their barracks from Saturday.
“To my colleagues in uniform and who are hearing my voice, the time has come. We have received orders from the headquarters that those who were trained in Mapel should report to Gerinti so that they can get verification for their deployment,” said Aturjong.
“We have already sent one contingent to Juba, supposed to be 150 personnel. I am urging those who are staying in residential areas to report back to Gerinti,” he said.
Aturjong said the move was part of the implementation to the security arrangement ahead of the Phase Two training.
“What we are doing is part of the implementation of the security arrangement. We want to fully complete the implementation because in the coming days, Phase Two will go for training,” he said.
He warned that anyone disobeying the directive would be punished.
“Anyone who will miss out should blame himself. The verification begins tomorrow,” he added.
