Disputes within ruling party in Blue Nile, governor dismisses 69 members

Disputes among the members of the ruling National Congress Party in Sudan’s Blue Nile state have erupted, while the governor and the chairman of the ruling party in the state Hussein Yasin issued an order dismissing 69 members from the party.

The affected members were part of a so-called ‘reform wing.’

An informed source told Radio Tamazuj that some of the members who have been dismissed including al-Agib Zaroug who was the former secretary general of the party and held many positions, besides Mutasim Satti who was the former secretary general of the party in Damazin locality and the speaker of the state parliament. 

Meanwhile, the dismissed members formed a new wing in the party calling for reform in the state government.
