The Twic East health director has been put on leave after his staff presented a petition against him, the county commissioner said.
Dau Akoi Jurkoch told Radio Tamazuj that James Magook was petitioned over a delay in salaries payment since July.
“The health workers in the county have issues with the health director and they wrote a petition letter in which they gave me one and copied him through and ordered the director to stay out of the office until the he is investigated, so as the authority of the County, I have told him to stay away and very soon we will investigate and he will be back to his work,” Dau said.
The commissioner said they have formed a committee to settle the issue.
Twic East health workers started receiving their backpay at the end of November after the Interchurch Medical Assistance NGO stepped in following five months without pay.
