Nearly 112 conflict-displaced persons from Wau town in Western Bahr el Ghazal State arrived in the contested area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan on Sunday.
The new arrivals include 45 Sudanese traders who fled the recent fighting in Wau town.
A Sudanese trader told Radio Tamazuj they have fled their homes following clashes in Wau town in July, saying they plan to travel to Sudan through the Abyei area.
The Sudanese national pointed that the United Nations Interim Security for Abyei (UNISFA) promised to escort their trucks to Diffra area where they will proceed to Sudan.
Last week, the UNISFA transported about 107 displaced people from Wau including Sudanese nationals who sought refuge in the area.
