Displaced in Damazin accuse Rapid Support Force of attacks

People living in the Afendi displacement camp of Damazin town in Sudan’s Blue Nile state have complained of repeated attacks by the Rapid Support Force (RSF).

People living in the Afendi displacement camp of Damazin town in Sudan’s Blue Nile state have complained of repeated attacks by the Rapid Support Force (RSF).

A local source told Radio Tamazuj the Rapid Support Force was brought to UNAMID base near the displacement camp in Damazin.

He said members of the militia forces continued to enter the camp, fire bullets in the air, harrass displaced people, and loot their food and properties. 

The source confirmed one person called Ibrahim Adlan was allegedly beaten by the Rapid Support Force in the camp.

He said they reported the incident to the Army Command Division four in the area but they denied any relations with the Rapid Support Force. 

Meanwhile, Military Intelligence in Damazin has arrested five people from Afendi displacement camp in the past two days after visiting another camp in Roseires.

Their whereabouts are unknown and no charges have been made public.
