Nuba families are living in desperate conditions at Yida refugee camp in South Sudan’s Unity State due to an outbreak of diseases, a medical source said.
The source told Radio Tamazuj that the main health facility in the refugee camp recorded increasing numbers of patients especially women and children amid acute shortage of medicines. He added that two patients died recently.
Elsewhere, several citizens in Al Naim area in Sudan’s White Nile State complained about poor health services being provided by the only hospital in the area.
A resident told Radio Tamazuj that they have only one hospital amid shortages of doctors, saying they have only one doctor who sneaks out sometimes.
She pointed out that patients who seek immediate medical attention in late hours do not receive treatment, while calling on the relevant authorities to hire more doctors and support staff.
